An order can consist of one or more items. The LogiNext platform offers you the capability to add multiple types of orders in the application.<\/p>\n<p>Note: You can either create an order directly or start with an order request first. To learn more about order requests, click <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/#\/2025\/03\/04\/orders-order-requests\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Types of Orders<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You can create the following types of orders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Pickup: An order picked up from the pickup location and delivered to your branch, without stops at any intermediate branches.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Delivery: An order picked up from your branch and delivered to the delivery location, without stops at any intermediate branches.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Pickup and Delivery: An order picked up from the pickup location and brought to your branch before being picked up again and delivered to the delivery location.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Point-to-Point (P2P): An order picked up from the pickup location and delivered to the delivery location, without stops at any intermediate branches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: To view the types of orders that can be created using an All Mile account and more related information, click <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2021\/08\/19\/orders-milestones\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><b>Order Creation Methods<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>There are three methods to create orders in the LogiNext platform:<\/p>\n<p>a) Add an order by filling out a form<br \/>\nb) Bulk upload orders by importing an Excel file<br \/>\nc) Automatically add orders via integration with third-party applications<\/p>\n<p>The following section talks about how to create individual orders using the Add Order forms. To learn how to bulk upload or automatically add orders, click <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2021\/08\/19\/add-orders-bulk-upload-and-auto-creation\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Add Order via Form<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>To create one order at a time using the Add Order form, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the Order tab.<\/li>\n<li>In the drop-down menu, select All Orders.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10967\" src=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"637\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-5.png 1903w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-5-300x60.png 300w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-5-768x153.png 768w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image3-5-1024x204.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 637px) 100vw, 637px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click the ADD button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10968\" src=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"814\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-4.png 1583w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-4-300x31.png 300w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-4-768x80.png 768w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image9-4-1024x106.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 814px) 100vw, 814px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Based on the type of order you want to create, select Order Type:\n<ul>\n<li>Pickup Leg: If you want to create a Pickup order, select Pickup Leg.<\/li>\n<li>Delivery Leg: If you want to create a Delivery order, select Delivery Leg.<\/li>\n<li>Pickup Leg and Delivery Leg: If you want to create a Pickup and Delivery type of order, select both the options\u2014Pickup Leg and Delivery Leg. Upon submitting the duly-filled order creation form, a single order will be created with order type as \u2018Pickup\u2019. Once this order is picked up, brought in to the branch from where it must be dispatched to the final delivery location, and updated as \u2018Marked as Delivered\u2019 at that branch, a new order with the same Order Number but with the order type as \u2018Delivery\u2019 will be created.<\/li>\n<li>Point to Point: If your order has to be picked up from a location and delivered to another location with no stops at any branches midway, select Point to Point.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Based on the Order Type selected, its corresponding Add Order form will appear.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25018\" src=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1999\" height=\"1040\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy.png 1999w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy-300x156.png 300w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy-1024x533.png 1024w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy-768x400.png 768w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image4-96-copy-1536x799.png 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1999px) 100vw, 1999px\" \/><br \/>\n<b>Note:<\/b> The Add Order form displayed will be as per the Order Type specified and the template selected under Settings &gt; Form and List Customization &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2019\/01\/29\/customise-list-views\/\">Form &amp; List Builder<\/a> &gt; Order.<br \/>\nIt will have some of the following fields. Provide the relevant information, as required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Branch Name: Name of the branch whose resources would be servicing the order.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Return to Branch: Name of the branch where the order should be returned, if needed. This is applicable for delivery orders.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Return Order: If the order type is Pickup and Delivery, you are provided this option where you can specify whether this order is a return order (i.e., an order that is being sent back by the receiver), by selecting Yes or No in the options.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Account Name: Name of the shipper\u2019s organization. Select the company name from the drop-down menu to create an order on behalf of one of your shippers.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><b>Note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n&#8211; When you create an order linked to a shipper, a corresponding order request is automatically generated in the system. This request appears as \u2018Confirmed\u2019 in the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/#\/2020\/05\/04\/list-of-shipment-requests\/\">Order Request List View<\/a>, where you can view the necessary details, as needed. Shippers can also view this request as \u2018Accepted\u2019 in the Shipper Web App\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/#\/2024\/05\/22\/shipper-web-app-list-of-order-requests\/\">Order Request List View<\/a>.<br \/>\n&#8211; The system also auto-calculates the Shipper Estimated Cost for such orders, based on the associated shipper\u2019s Rate Chart. You can view this cost in the Order List View.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Order Details:\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Order Number: Order Number is a multi-digit number assigned to a shipment to distinguish it from other shipments. You can enter any alphanumeric value as an order number. However, please ensure that the order no. is unique for the same order type. For example, two Pickup orders should not have the same order number. You can also auto-generate an order number using the icon next to the field.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Airway Bill Number: The Airway Bill or AWB is a document provided by the carrier containing details about the shipment such as sender and recipient details, T&amp;Cs, etc. It acts as a receipt for the sender and is a legally-binding contract of carriage. You can enter the Airway Bill Number in this field.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Parent Order Number: Parent Order Number is an identifier that you can use to track multiple orders together. On the tracking link of an order that shares the Parent Order Number with some other orders, those other orders appear as &#8216;Related Orders&#8217;. This is especially useful for multiple orders placed by the same customer.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Order Date: Order Date is the date on which you received the order request for pickup or delivery.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Order Date Timezone: The time zone used to specify the order date and time. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By default, the time zone specified for a user will be selected.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0If a user doesn\u2019t have a time zone specified for them, the system considers their branch\u2019s time zone as a fallback. In case the branch\u2019s timezone isn\u2019t available either, then the time zone set at the organization level (i.e., in the System Preferences under the Settings module) will be considered. N<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ote that this would only be applicable when \u2018My Timezone\u2019 has been selected in Timezone Preference for a user. If the \u2018Location Timezone\u2019 has been selected, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the relevant data will be displayed in the time zone specified for the order, as applicable.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To learn more about the same, click <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/#\/2023\/05\/17\/timezone-preference\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Skill Set: If your order requires specific skills for pickup\/delivery, you can specify it here. The planning engine takes into account the skill set requirement for the order and assigns a delivery associate who possesses the specified Skill Set.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Delivery Associate: If you want to assign the delivery associate yourself and not as planned by the LogiNext planning engine, you can select from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Number of Crates: Click this field to enter various details about the contents of the order. In case of multiple items in a single order, you can bundle similar items together in one crate and allocate multiple crates, as required.<br \/>\nWhen you click this field, the pop-up screen will let you enter details of crate 1. Here, you can specify details such as, Crate Code and Type; Quantity, i.e., total number of crates exactly like this crate (carrying the exact same items as this crate); Amount (cumulative price of all items in all the similar crates); Crate Dimensions; Item Height, Temperature Range suitable for storing the items in the crate, and more.<br \/>\nYou may also see the option to add details of each item in the crate, depending on the settings configured in Order Packaging under Order Configuration in the Settings module. Item details include Item Name and Type, No. of Units of the item ordered, etc.<br \/>\nClick the + Add Crate option to allocate more crates for the order, as required.<br \/>\nClick the Save option once you have made all the required entries.<br \/>\nAll this information would be made available to your delivery associates when they are loading these crates for delivery.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10974\" src=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-6.png 1999w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-6-300x145.png 300w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-6-768x371.png 768w, https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image1-6-1024x495.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Packaging Required: Whether packaging is required for this order or not. Select \u2018Yes\u2019 from the drop-down menu if packaging service is required for this order, or \u2018No\u2019 if not.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Weight: Here, you can enter the total weight of the order. This information can be critical if the order has a considerable weight. The unit of measurement will be the same as specified in System Preferences in the Settings module.<br \/>\nIf the Order Weight is entered manually, the system will use that value as is. If the value is not provided, the system automatically calculates the weight using the following logic:<br \/>\n\u2013 Order Weight: If provided, it is used directly.<br \/>\n\u2013 Crate Weight: If Order Weight is not entered, the system adds up the weights of all defined crates in the order.<br \/>\n\u2013 Item Weight: If neither Order Weight nor Crate Weights are defined, the system sums up the weights of all defined items in the order.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Volume: You can specify the volume of the order here. This information can be critical if the order occupies a considerable volume. The unit of measurement will be the same as specified in System Preferences in the Settings module.<br \/>\nIf the Order Volume is entered manually, the system will use that value as is. If the value is not provided, the system automatically calculates the volume using the following logic:<br \/>\n\u2013 Order Volume: If provided, it is used directly.<br \/>\n\u2013 Crate Volume: If Order Volume is not entered, the system adds up the volumes of all defined crates in the order.<br \/>\n\u2013 Item Volume: If neither Order Volume nor Crate Volumes are defined, the system sums up the volumes of all defined items in the order.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Original Value: Cost of the order before applying any discount.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discount: Discount (in %) applicable for the order, if any. This value can include decimals. If you do not provide any value here, it is considered as 0%.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Payment Mode: Select Prepaid if the order has already been paid for. Select Cash On Delivery (COD) if the delivery associate needs to collect cash at the time of delivery.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insurance Required: Whether you want insurance coverage for this order or not. Select &#8216;Yes&#8217; from the drop-down menu if you require insurance coverage, or &#8216;No&#8217; if you do not.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insured Value: Insured amount applicable for the order. This amount will be used to calculate the insurance fee via the associated shipper\u2019s Rate Chart. To learn more about the same, click <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/#\/2023\/10\/03\/rate-chart\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note that the amount entered here should be less than or equal to the total order cost after discounts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Value: Total cost applicable for the order after the discount. This field is auto-populated based on the Original Value and Discount fields. This information is critical especially when the payment mode is Cash On Delivery. The amount entered here is the total amount the customer will pay (in case of COD) or has paid (in case of Prepaid). Shipping Cost can be configured separately, if applicable. If shipping cost is also provided, the total amount to be collected from the customer for the order will be Value+Shipping Cost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shipping Cost: The total cost incurred in the movement of the order. Shipping cost is also referred to as delivery charges. If shipping cost is provided, the total amount to be collected from the customer for the order will be Value+Shipping Cost.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Signature Required: Whether you want a signature or specifically, an adult signature, to validate the pickup\/delivery of the order or not. Select &#8216;Yes&#8217; if you want the customer&#8217;s signature, &#8216;Adult Signature&#8217; if you require an adult&#8217;s signature (i.e., the signatory must be of legal adult age), or &#8216;No&#8217; if no signature is needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Partial Delivery Allowed: You can allow your delivery associates to deliver a partial order (i.e. hold back specific items in the order in case of any item damage, etc.) using this option. This would let your delivery associates mark the order as partially delivered in their LogiNext Driver app.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Sales Return Allowed: You can enable this option if the order is returnable. This will let your customer initiate a return order request post delivery, if required.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Order Cancellation Allowed: Using this option, you can enable your customers to initiate a cancel order request after placing the order.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Service Time (in minutes): Here, you can specify the time required to fulfil the order. This is particularly useful if the order requires a considerable amount of time loading\/unloading or if it requires installation. When the orders are planned, the service time required for the orders is also considered in the pickup\/delivery time window.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Preparation Time (in minutes): In this field, you can mention the approximate time (in minutes) required to prepare the order. This will help your delivery associates reach the pickup location at the right time.<br \/>\n<b>Note<\/b>: Preparation Time is particularly useful in the case of food deliveries. Correct estimates enable delivery associates to reach pickup locations at the right time, thereby minimizing the time spent in waiting for the order to be handed over or compromising the order quality in terms of freshness, etc. Turn ON the Consider Order Preparation Time property from the Auto-Assignment Profile to enable this logic. The article on <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/25\/auto-assignment-properties\/\">Auto-Assignment Properties<\/a> explains how the auto-assignment engine takes into account the Preparation Time. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2021\/11\/02\/preparation-time-consideration-for-auto-assignment-pre-order-eta\/\">Learn more about Preparation Time.<\/a><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Shipping Cost: The total cost incurred in the movement of the order. Shipping cost is also referred to as delivery charges. If shipping cost is provided, the total amount to be collected from the customer for the order will be Value+Shipping Cost.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Priority: You can assign a priority to the order as per the values configured in Order Prioritizing under Order Configuration in the Settings module. The planning engine will consider the order priority for planning, thereby ensuring that orders with higher priority are assigned accordingly.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Auto Assignment Profile Name:\u00a0 An Auto-assignment Profile consists of specific settings regarding the <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2019\/03\/25\/auto-assignment-properties\/\">Auto-Assignment Properties<\/a>. You can select an Auto-assignment Profile from the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Pickup Details and Delivery Details:<\/b><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>After the Order Details section, the Add Order form will have Pickup Details and\/or Delivery Details section(s). The Pickup Details section will not appear if the Order Type is Delivery. Similarly, in the Delivery Details section, you can provide the following details regarding the Delivery Leg of the order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Customer ID: Customer ID is an identifier assigned to a customer. If a new customer has placed the order, you can assign any alphanumeric value as his\/her customer ID while ensuring that the value entered is unique, i.e., it doesn\u2019t belong to any other customer. If an existing customer has placed the order, upon entering the customer ID, you can auto-populate several fields.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Name: You can enter the customer\u2019s name here.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Email ID: You can enter the customer&#8217;s email address here.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Contact Number: You can enter the customer\u2019s contact number here.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Address ID: Identifier assigned to a customer\u2019s address. If you have <a href=\"https:\/\/support.loginextsolutions.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/19\/group-shipment\/\">Customer Profiling<\/a> (Settings&gt;Module Configuration&gt;Customer Configuration) enabled, and the customer had provided multiple addresses in the past, each of those addresses will have an individual Address ID. You can enter the Address ID which would auto-fill the address fields. If you have entered the Customer ID in the form (and your Customer Profiling is enabled), clicking the Address ID field will show you address options for the customer (in case of multiple addresses), you can simply select the required address from the list. If this is a new customer, you can provide any unique alphanumeric value as the Address ID.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Address Type: Type of customer address, e.g., Residential, Office, etc.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Location Restriction: Here, you can specify if there are any location-related issues the delivery associate might face while reaching the address.
